Patrick Powell

Patrick Powell is an experienced IT professional with a diverse background spanning several leadership roles across prominent organizations. Currently serving as a Director at CIBC since July 2024, Patrick previously held the position of Head of Governance, Compliance, and Security at GreenFirst Forest Products from April 2021 to July 2024, where responsibilities included managing IT governance and developing a security program aligned with regulatory frameworks. Prior to these roles, Patrick contributed to municipalities as a Senior Consultant with OPTIMUS | SBR and Powell Consulting, focusing on operational efficiencies and IT initiatives. Additional experience includes senior management at CIBC, Hewlett-Packard, the Toronto Stock Exchange, Microsoft, and EDS Corporation. Patrick's education includes studies at Centennial College from 1987 to 1989.
