Yujun Zhong

Yujun Zhong is a seasoned professional in the field of machine learning and artificial intelligence, currently serving as a Senior AI Scientist at CIBC since March 2025, focusing on document extraction solutions utilizing OCR and LLM technologies. Previously, Yujun held positions as a Machine Learning Engineer at Koïos Intelligence, developing chatbots with LLMs, and as a Data Scientist at CN, creating machine learning models for anomaly detection in train dispatch systems. Additional experience includes roles as a Senior Machine Learning Engineer at LinkSure Network, where machine learning systems for content moderation were developed, and at Lalamove, where a computer vision system for vehicle detection was built. Yujun began a career in machine learning at vivo, contributing to computer vision algorithms for smartphone cameras. Yujun holds multiple advanced degrees, including a Master of Science in Machine Learning and a Master of Science in Computer Science from reputable institutions such as Mila and Université de Montréal, respectively, alongside a Master of Engineering and a Bachelor of Engineering from Wuhan University of Technology.
