Peter Thorns currently serves as the Head of Strategic Lighting Applications at Thorn Lighting and holds the position of Vice President Standards at the CIE - International Commission on Illumination since September 2023. Additionally, Peter has been Chair of ISO/TC 274 Light and Lighting at ISO - International Organization for Standardization since January 2022, and Chair of the Value of Light working group and a member of the Emergency Lighting working group at LightingEurope since June 2019. Experience also includes serving as Associate Editor for Lighting Research and Technology at CIBSE since January 2019, and acting as Convenor of CEN WG1 for CEN TC169 since 2007. Peter previously held the role of Division Director for CIE Division 3 from 2019 to 2023.
