Brian Rhodes

Brian Rhodes is a Research Scientist at Cibus since January 2023, specializing in molecular discovery and the establishment of a nitrogen use efficiency team for agronomic advancements. Previously, Brian served as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the USDA Agricultural Research Service from May 2021 to January 2023, contributing to a proprietary in planta protein production system across various species. Brian earned a PhD in Plant Breeding and Plant Genetics from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where research focused on enhancing maize nitrogen use efficiency and served as a graduate research fellow. Early research experience includes roles at the University of Minnesota and Carleton College, alongside international field research in Costa Rica.
