CIRAD
Jean-Marc Bouvet is the Head of Research Unit at CIRAD, with over three decades of experience in plant genetics, forestry, and biodiversity research. Since September 2001, Jean-Marc has led research coordination in Madagascar, focusing on forests and biodiversity. Previous roles include directing research on eucalyptus and coordinating research activities in French Guyana, as well as managing programs related to tree species in various countries. Jean-Marc holds an Habilitation Degree in supervising Research from the University of Montpellier and a PhD in Plant Genetics from AgroParisTech. The comprehensive background in genetic improvement and natural resource management has been instrumental in developing international research partnerships and initiatives across tropical regions.
