Scott McConnell

Scott McConnell is a seasoned communications professional with extensive experience in public affairs and media relations within federal cybersecurity and infrastructure sectors. Currently serving as a Public Affairs Advisor at the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency since November 2018, Scott effectively promotes agency priorities and has led communications efforts during significant cyber incidents. Prior roles at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security included Press Secretary for the National Protection and Programs Directorate, where Scott coordinated media relations and supported critical response efforts to natural disasters. Scott’s career also encompasses positions at FEMA and the Office of the Federal Coordinator for Gulf Coast Rebuilding, emphasizing strategic communications during times of crisis. Scott holds a Doctor of Law degree from The George Washington University Law School and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Michigan.
