Citibeats is an artificial intelligence platform that searches and analyzes large amounts of text provided by citizens - we structure this data (using Natural Language Processing - NLP - and Machine Learning - ML) and identify social trends, leading indicators, and actionable insights for governments, organizations and private companies. Our USP is the platforms’ adaptiveness to rapidly changing social contexts, highly personalized outputs, being language-agnostic - and our capacity to minimize bias within the analysis increasing the representativity and inclusiveness of our models. For more than 4 years, Citibeats has been helping decision-makers of the public and private sector nowcast societal trends by capturing people’s collective intelligence. Incorporating this intelligence in the decision process had helped them to drive decisions with a positive impact. Projects like EARS with The World Health Organization (to fight health misinformation), CivicLytics with the Inter American Development Bank (to understand complex civic issues), the Social Risk Monitor with the United Nations Development Program in Pakistan (to improve the life of the population of Karachi), or the Sustainability Project with the Word Bank (to understand the concerns of Philippines around sustainability), empowered stakeholders to anticipate societal changes and risks and implement better-informed and faster responses to people’s real needs.
