Carl Sian

Carl Sian is a seasoned network engineering professional with over 30 years of experience in various technical roles. Currently serving as Principal Network Engineer for the City and County of San Francisco since June 2002, Carl Sian has been recognized as a thought leader in architecting, designing, configuring, and installing large Cisco network deployments across city departments, including a significant relocation of the data center networking for 29,000 users. Prior to this role, Carl Sian worked at NAI BT Commercial as a LAN/WAN/Server Administrator, overseeing a multi-city WAN and providing onsite computer support. Earlier experience includes serving as a Field Engineer at Eastman Kodak, where Carl Sian specialized in high-volume copier repair and customer service, and a tenure as Fire Team Leader in the United States Marine Corps. Carl Sian holds two Associate of Applied Science degrees from Heald College, focusing on Novel Networks and Electronics.
