Eric Matthews has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and roles. Eric currently serves as the Chief Information Officer at the City of Allen since December 2022. Prior to that, they held the position of Director of Information Technology at the same organization from December 2016 to December 2022.
Before joining the City of Allen, Eric worked at the City of Richardson as the Deputy CIO, Application Development from May 2004 to December 2016. In this role, they were responsible for various areas such as application development, ERP, business analysis, project management, web, and GIS divisions. Eric also managed business intelligence initiatives and annual budgeting.
Earlier in their career, Eric worked as a Senior Consultant at Workflow Studios from June 2001 to May 2004. Prior to that, they worked as an IT Consultant at Whittman-Hart / marchFIRST from June 1999 to June 2001 and at Deloitte/DRT Systems from June 1998 to June 1999.
Eric's earliest work experience includes working at Interliant from June 1996 to June 1998, where they held multiple roles such as IT Analyst, Recruiter, and Product Manager.
Eric Matthews attended The University of Texas at Austin from 1992 to 1996, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies. Later, they pursued further education at The University of Texas at Dallas from 2009 to 2012, earning a Master of Public Affairs (MPA) degree with a field of study in Public Affairs.
