Yordanos Abitew

Yordanos Abitew currently serves as a Senior Business Systems Analyst at the City of Atlanta Department of Procurement, a position held since June 2023. Prior to this, Yordanos worked as an Elementary School Teacher at Atlanta Public Schools from August 2020 to August 2023, where responsibilities included leading training for new teachers on digital learning platforms, maintaining student records, and utilizing social-emotional learning practices. Yordanos also taught at Uplift Education between July 2018 and August 2023, focusing on student growth and developing a partner teaching model. Earlier experience includes roles as an AmeriCorps Member with City Year and Fugees Family, Inc., where support was provided to students and refugee families. Yordanos possesses a Master of Business Administration from Mercer University Stetson-Hatcher School of Business, in addition to a Master of Arts in Teaching from Relay Graduate School of Education and a Bachelor’s degree in International/Global Studies from Mercer University.
