Stephen Alkins, Ph.D., currently serves as the Principal Investigator at the REVISE Center, which focuses on advancing equity in informal STEM education as part of the National Science Foundation's Advancing Informal STEM Learning program. Appointed by Mayor Michelle Wu, Stephen also contributes to the Boston School Committee, advocating for equitable educational experiences in Boston Public Schools. Additionally, Stephen holds the position of Education Policy Fellow at the Rennie Center for Education Research and Policy and acts as the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer at TERC. Previous roles include mentoring students in SAT preparation and academic subjects at Revolution Prep and serving as a Learning Specialist and STEM Coordinator at Massachusetts Bay Community College. Stephen's academic background includes a Ph.D. in Cellular Neuroscience and a Master's in Neuroscience from Brandeis University, along with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Morehouse College.
