Shannon Brooks-Gupta is an experienced planning and policy professional, currently serving as the Manager of Official Plan and Growth Management for the City of Brampton since July 2021, previously holding roles as Supervisor/Principal Planner and Senior Planner, Policy. Prior experience includes positions at York Region as a Planner in Long Range Planning and Associate Analyst, and a brief tenure with the United Nations in Policy, Planning, Monitoring & Evaluation. Additional roles span research, editorial, and policy consultancy functions across various organizations, including ONWARD and Honda Canada Inc. Shannon’s academic background includes a Master of Planning from the University of Waterloo and a Master of Public Policy from the University of Toronto, complemented by a Bachelor of Arts in Law & Human Rights from Carleton University and a CHRP designation from the Human Resources Professional Association.
