Sarah Alexander has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Sarah worked at the City of Burnaby as the Director of Real Estate and Business Operations starting from January 2023. Prior to that, they held two roles at WestUrban Developments Ltd., first as the Director of Development from April 2020 to April 2022, and then as the Director of Engineering from April 2022 to February 2023.

Before joining WestUrban Developments Ltd., Sarah had a significant tenure at the City of Calgary. Sarah served as the Manager of Growth Funding and Investment from May 2018 to April 2020. Prior to that, they were the Senior Executive Advisor to the Deputy City Manager from June 2016 to May 2018. Sarah also worked as a Senior Infrastructure Engineer from June 2007 to June 2016.

In addition to their work in the public sector, Sarah also had experience in the private sector. Sarah worked as a High Performance Coach at Calgary Aquabelles from August 2007 to April 2020. Earlier in their career, they served as a Design Engineer at Stantec from April 2005 to September 2006.

Sarah's career started in 1998 at Synchro Canada, where they were a Senior National Team Member for synchronized swimming until May 2003.

Sarah Alexander completed their Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a specialization in Financial Strategy from the Smith School of Business at Queen's University from 2017 to 2019. Prior to this, they obtained a Bachelor of Science in Engineering with a focus on Civil / Environmental Engineering from the University of Calgary in 2007.
