William Tarbox is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in public works and utilities management. Currently serving as the Director of Public Works for the City of Concord since December 2021, William previously held the same title at the City of Benicia from March 2018 to December 2021. Prior to that, William worked for the City and County of San Francisco as Superintendent of Structural Maintenance and Infrastructure from September 2005 to October 2017. William's career also includes roles as Director of Distribution at Berkeley Farms Dairy (Dean Foods Co.) and District Cartage Manager at ABX Air, Inc. Following academic achievements at the University of San Francisco with a Bachelor of Arts in History, Anthropology, and Theology, William furthered education in law at Golden Gate University and obtained a General Engineering license from the California State Licensing Board.
