Melissa Echevarria

Melissa Echevarria is an experienced professional in water resources and environmental management. Currently serving as the Director of Water Resources for the City of East Point since August 2022, Echevarria previously held the position of Director of Public Works for the City of College Park Georgia, where responsibilities included managing sanitation, stormwater, roads, drainage, parks, and water and sewer services. Prior roles at the City of East Point included Director of Water and Sewer, Interim Director of Water and Sewer, Environmental Compliance Manager, and FOG Coordinator/Sr. Environmental Inspector. Echevarria began their career as an Erosion, Sediment, and Pollution Control Specialist with the Georgia Soil & Water Conservation Commission and started in the field as an intern at the Coosa River Basin Initiative. Echevarria holds a Master of Science in Environmental Studies from the American Public University System and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Studies from the University of West Georgia.
