Orest Katolyk has a wealth of experience working in various roles in the City of London, Canada and the City of Orangeville ON. Orest started their career as a Planner in the City of Orangeville in 1986 and worked there until 1987. Orest then joined the City of London in 1987 as a Planner and later served as a Senior Planner from 1990 to 2001. Orest then progressed to the role of Director, Municipal Compliance in 2001, where they continue to work.

Orest Katolyk completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Geography at McMaster University from 1980 to 1984. Orest then pursued a Masters degree in City/Urban, Community and Regional Planning at Queen's University, which they completed from 1984 to 1986. In 1987, Orest took a course in Municipal Law at Seneca Polytechnic.
