The mission of the Meriden Police Department is for every member to be thoroughly committed to improving the quality of life for all citizens.  To embark on a pro-active working partnership with neighbors, businesses and elected officials in obtaining a common goal of safer, cleaner neighborhoods in which families are not afraid to walk the streets.  To decentralize and bring the officers back to the citizens they represent.  To become the benchmark by which other communities and Police Departments measure their success.
