Emma Overton

Emma Overton, LRT/CTRS, currently serves as Recreation Program Coordinator for the City of Raleigh Municipal Government, a position held since November 2024. Prior experience includes roles as Lead Recreation Therapist and Recreation Therapist at Pinewood Springs Mental Health & Wellness from January 2021 to November 2024, and as a Recreation Assistant at The Davis Community for six months in 2020. Emma started in the field as a Recreation Therapy Intern at Carolina Dunes Behavioral Health after completing a 560-hour internship aligned with NCTRC requirements. Educational credentials include a degree in Recreation Therapy from the University of North Carolina Wilmington, obtained in 2020, complemented by early experience as a Camp Counselor in Specialized Recreation & Inclusion Services with Raleigh Parks & Recreation in 2017. Emma has a strong background in working with at-risk populations, developing therapeutic programming, and promoting recreational therapy best practices.
