Jason Salamun is an experienced municipal leader currently serving as the Mayor of Rapid City since 2016, after previously holding the position of City Councilman. Salamun has a strong background in organizational leadership, having served as the Chief of Staff and Executive Pastor at Fountain Springs Church from 2019 to July 2023, where responsibilities included overseeing staff development, operational strategies, and financial stewardship. Prior to that, Salamun was the Vice President of Operations and Strategic Services at Black Hills Federal Credit Union, focusing on talent development and strategic initiatives. Additional experience includes roles in organizational development at Assurant and marketing at Rapid City Journal, as well as serving in the United States Air Force, where Salamun held the title of Senior Airman. Education includes degrees from Black Hills State University and the Community College of the Air Force.
