Amanda MacDonald is an experienced economic development professional with a strong background in business retention and expansion. Currently serving as an Economic Development Officer for the City of St. Albert since September 2020, Amanda previously held the position of Partnerships and Commercialization Manager at the University of Alberta, where relationships between industry and academia were fostered. Prior experience includes serving as Community Manager at the Edmonton Economic Development Corporation, focusing on entrepreneurship within the Advanced Technology Centre, and founding Insta-Cool Bands, an innovative cooling wearable startup. Earlier in Amanda's career, the role of Assistant to Deputy Registrar at the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta involved supporting entry-to-practice initiatives and managing confidential records through a specialized database. Amanda holds a Bachelor of Management degree from the University of Lethbridge and a Management Studies Diploma from MacEwan University.
