Heather Hicks, Ph.D., GISP, currently serves as Sr. Manager of GIS at Civitas Resources, Inc. since November 2021. In addition to this role, Heather has been an Adjunct Faculty member at the University of Denver since September 2004, where responsibilities include developing and instructing various GIS courses. Heather also lectures at Johns Hopkins University, teaching online GIS courses. Previous experience includes Senior Manager of GIS at Crestone Peak Resources and GIS Manager at Encana Corporation, where Heather led teams and defined geospatial strategies. Heather's earlier positions encompassed GIS Coordinator for the Colorado Department of Natural Resources, Network Implementation Manager/GIS Manager at Level 3 Communications, and GIS Manager at Geomega. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Watershed Science from Colorado State University, as well as multiple degrees and certifications in geology, geography, and geographic information science from various institutions, including Yale University and the University of Denver.
