Derek Zhu

Derek Zhu is an accomplished finance professional with extensive experience in corporate strategy, mergers and acquisitions, and investment banking. Currently serving as the Senior Manager for Corporate Strategy and M&A as well as the Regional Head for Southeast Asia & Pacific at Clariant since August 2015, Derek has successfully led M&A projects from inception to completion, including due diligence, negotiations, and integration. Prior to this role, Derek held significant positions at Citigroup as the Head of Southeast Asia Corporate Finance and at Cazenove as Vice-President of Equity Capital Markets, managing large teams and overseeing high-profile transactions in the region. Derek's career also includes experience at Lazard as an M&A Associate and at Bankers Trust Company as a Trader. Academic credentials include an MBA from INSEAD and dual BS degrees in Finance and Chemical Engineering from The Wharton School and the University of Pennsylvania, respectively. Derek is also a Chartered Financial Analyst, holding the designation since 2001.
