An opportunity exists to join the Risk and Compliance team as a Privacy and Data Risk Manager.

In this key role, you will oversee HUB24’s privacy and data risk management framework. You will bring your subject matter expertise to identify, assess, mitigate and report on privacy risks, whilst maintaining a practical appreciation for the commercial needs of the business.

This is a 9 Months Fixed Term Contract based in Sydney or Melbourne

Key responsibilities

  • Provide advice on privacy law and regulatory reforms and apply subject matter expertise to assist with privacy-related enquiries.
  • Provide ongoing enhancement of privacy and data governance policies and guidelines, training modules, and other relevant policies, risk taxonomy, registers and strategies.
  • Assist with enhancing and monitoring practices and procedures to ensure the HUB24 Group’s responsibilities in relation to privacy and data governance are met.
  • Develop and conduct training across the HUB24 Group, to improve privacy and data governance awareness.
  • Facilitate the identification, reporting and resolution of privacy-related complaints and breaches, including overseeing privacy and data incidents, and assisting with privacy assessments.
  • Provide support and advice on projects and other business initiatives from a privacy and data governance perspective, including conducting privacy impact assessments where required.
  • Support the business to identify, assess and mitigate the privacy and data governance risks associated with the use of emerging technologies such as generative AI.
  • Help drive and maintain a strong and resilient culture of risk and compliance across the business.
  • Engage with key stakeholders (e.g. cybersecurity, information technology, marketing, and product teams) and build and maintain relationships to drive the risk and compliance agenda.

Key skills required

  • Qualifications in either: Privacy, Law, Finance, Commerce, or similar discipline.
  • Experience in a privacy, data governance. compliance/regulatory or legal role.
  • Experience in dealing with complex and high-profile privacy and data governance issues.
  • Strong technical knowledge of the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and an understanding of other key legislation and reforms.
  • A high level of maturity and commercial acumen, to develop proactive and practical solutions to the demands of the business.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with impact and influence.
  • Solve problems and negotiate successful outcomes.
  • Apply strong analytical skills and high-level attention to detail.
  • Deliver quality outcomes within agreed timeframes.
  • Bring a high level of energy and commitment to the team.
