We are looking for a motivated and experienced Senior Observability Engineer to join the team at Hub24.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams within Group Technology Services, applying your expertise in monitoring, alerting, and observability tools to develop robust solutions for complex systems. Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain advanced monitoring and observability systems for distributed applications and infrastructure.
  • Develop metrics, logs, and traces to proactively manage availability, capacity, and performance.
  • Establish and optimize Golden Signal monitoring (latency, error rates, saturation, etc.) for comprehensive system health insights.
  • Create and maintain dashboards to display real-time system health and status.
  • Provide integration of monitoring tools with ITSM systems and other monitoring platforms.
  • Develop Service Level Objectives (SLOs), Service Level Indicators (SLIs), and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to ensure critical system reliability.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and support incident resolution processes.
  • Research and recommend improvements in observability tools, standards, and practices.
  • Provide training and support for technology teams in observability practices.

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of experience building and managing observability solutions for complex systems.
  • Proven experience with monitoring tools like Dynatrace, Sumo Logic, Datadog, or Splunk (Dynatrace/Sumo Logic highly regarded).
  • Strong expertise in traditional technology stacks (Windows, Linux, IIS, SQL, PostgreSQL, NoSQL).
  • Proficiency in cloud environments (Azure, AWS, or GCP), including container technologies such as Kubernetes.
  • Understanding of OpenTelemetry (OTEL) and cloud-native observability solutions like AWS CloudWatch or Google Stackdriver.
  • Hands-on experience with automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and PowerShell.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD practices and scripting for operational workflows.

Soft Skills- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.

  • Strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to present solutions and build effective relationships.
  • Team-oriented with a passion for collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
