Job Overview:

We are seeking a proactive Quality Manager (Process, Product & QMS)  with a hands-on approach and a passion for quality. In this role, you will take ownership of process and product quality, establish and implement a Quality Management System, and drive continuous improvement throughout the organization. You will also support our customer service team by leading 8D investigations to ensure effective resolution of quality issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and Implement QMS: Lead the development of a Quality Management System (QMS), conducting a business landscape analysis and gap assessment. Collaborate with the Management Team (MT) to define the company's quality strategy, policies, standards, and systems.
  • Define Quality Processes: Develop and implement quality processes across the organization. Mentor and support other departments in establishing business processes to ensure alignment and efficiency.
  • Internal Audit and Reporting: Create and execute an internal audit plan. Identify and report gaps, risks, and opportunities for improvement with actionable recommendations.
  • Manage APQP for NPD: Oversee the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process for production, collaborating closely with the procurement team, supplier quality manager, and engineering during New Product Development (NPD).
  • Drive Continuous Improvement (Kaizen): Lead and facilitate kaizen initiatives to promote continuous improvement across all areas of the organization.
  • Lead 8D Investigations: Conduct and manage 8D problem-solving investigations across operations. Ensure clear reporting, follow-up on corrective actions, and implementation of interim and permanent containment measures.
  • Manage Engineering Change Requests (ECR): Oversee and drive Engineering Change Requests (ECR) through the entire process, from initiation to full implementation and closure, ensuring timely and effective execution.

Qualifications:

  • At least 7-10 years of experience as a Quality Manager in a technical environment with focus on Product Quality, Process Quality and QMS.
  • You are familiar with the 7 basic elements of TQM philosophy: customer focus, leadership, engagement of people, process approach, improvement, evidence-based decision making and relationship management
  • Preferred automotive background: understanding of automotive or similar processes and quality frameworks, including APQP, 8D, control plans, GEMBA approach, TQM. Experience with JIDOKA and leading quality improvement projects is a plus.
  • Experience in setting up or working within a QMS environment, preferably in automotive or similarly regulated industries. Familiar with best practices and potential pitfalls.
  • Ability to interpret product drawings, assess tolerances and evaluate manufacturability and measurement feasibility based on material and design requirements.
  • Problem-Solving leadership: Skilled in leading 8D investigations and driving kaizen initiatives to enhance operations and process efficiency.
  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI and other relevant business software.
  • Fluent in English. Results-driven, hands-on and able to work independently.
  • You have the legal right to work in Belgium without a need for sponsorship.
