Chris McCandlish

Chris McCandlish has a diverse work experience in software engineering and related roles. Chris started their career at Broad Street Interactive as a Media Buyer Intern, where they gained experience in managing digital advertising campaigns. Chris then worked at Baker Motor Company as a Sales Consultant and Social Media Manager, where they built customer relationships and managed the company's Facebook page. Chris then joined BiblioLabs as a Freelance Curator, using their authoring platform to create multimedia digital anthologies. Chris worked as a Copy Editor/Reporter at SC Business Publications, LLC before attending The Iron Yard, a coding bootcamp, where they graduated as a Front-End Engineering Graduate. After completing the bootcamp, they joined Vinli Inc as a Junior Frontend Engineer, building web applications using various development tools. Chris later joined Bellhops as a Frontend Software Engineer, working on internal and external web applications using React/Redux and GraphQL. Currently, Chris works at ClassPass as a Senior Frontend Software Engineer, primarily focusing on building and maintaining consumer-facing web applications using React, Redux, Typescript, and Next.js.

Chris McCandlish attended Clemson University from 2006 to 2008, where they pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Language and Literature, with a focus on general studies. Following this, from 2008 to 2010, they enrolled at the University of South Carolina and earned their Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in Spanish and minoring in History. In 2015, Chris attended The Iron Yard for a brief period and studied Front-end Web Engineering.
