Alice Butts has extensive experience in public service and education. Currently serving as a volunteer trustee at the Cleveland Public Library since September 2005, Alice oversees a large urban library district with a budget of $70 million, having previously held the position of President of the Board of Trustees. Between September 1997 and June 2003, Alice contributed to The Parent-Child Home Program as a Co-Coordinator/Home Visitor, focusing on educational outreach to at-risk families in inner-city Cleveland. Additionally, Alice served as a College Trustee for five years and then as a member of the Tri-C Foundation Board of Directors for ten years at Cuyahoga Community College, where governance included participation in the selection of a new college president. Alice holds a B.A. in Philosophy and English from B-W College in Ohio and Millsaps in Mississippi, earned between 1960 and 1964.
