Robert Mackie has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. Robert started their career in 1986 as a School Director at Berlitz Corporation. Robert then went on to own and operate Waves Sailboard School from 1989 to 1992. Following this, they owned and operated Computers 911 from 1992 to 1994. In 1994, they worked as a Software Developer at Random Games for a brief period. Robert then joined BroadBand Technologies, Inc. as a Software Engineer from 1996 to 2000. From 2000 to 2016, they worked at Cisco Systems as a Software Engineer and Technical Lead. In 2016, they joined Geode Insights as a Principal Consultant. In 2021, they joined ShopBot Tools, Inc as a Software Engineer specializing in Embedded Systems. Finally, in 2023, they joined Clever Devices as a Senior Embedded System Engineer, where they currently work.
Robert Mackie attended North Carolina State University from 1981 to 1995, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science with a focus on Software Engineering. Additionally, they also completed minors in French and Russian.
