Timon McPhearson

Timon McPhearson has a wealth of work experience in various environmental and ecological roles. Timon is currently a Co-Founder of Climasens since August 2018, where they co-founded the company and continues to hold this role. Timon is also a Co-Founder since January 2019 at Climasens. Previously, Timon worked as a Professor of Urban Ecology and Director of the Urban Systems Lab at The New School, starting in July 2008. Timon has also held positions as an Associate Research Fellow at the Stockholm Resilience Centre starting in January 2017, and as a Senior Research Fellow at the Cary Institute of Ecosystem Studies starting in July 2017. Prior to these roles, Timon was an Author at The Nature of Cities from 2012 to 2014. Timon also worked as a Visiting Assistant Professor at the Columbia University Earth Institute in 2008-2009, and as a Columbia Science Fellow at Columbia University from July 2005 to June 2008. Additionally, they served as a Science Advisor for biodiversity-related exhibits at the American Museum of Natural History from August 2004 to September 2006. Timon also worked as an Ecologist/Biodiversity Scientist at the Center for Biodiversity and Conservation at the American Museum of Natural History from January 2003 to August 2005.

Timon McPhearson's education history demonstrates a strong focus on ecology and evolutionary biology. Timon obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Biology from Taylor University, where they studied from 1993 to 1997. Later, they pursued further education and earned a Ph.D. in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from Rutgers University, specializing in this field from 1997 to 2003.
