Michael Li is an experienced leader in research and strategy focused on decarbonisation, currently serving as the Research Strategy Lead at Climateworks Centre since June 2017. In this role, Michael oversees the Research, Analysis and Modelling team, providing strategic direction and independent advice to enhance research capabilities. Michael has also acted as the Head of Strategy, leading efforts to drive impactful initiatives within the organisation, and has a strong background in project management, having previously directed the Reshaping Infrastructure initiative and the Built to Perform project. Prior to Climateworks, Michael was a Sustainability Consultant and Graduate Engineer at AECOM, developing expertise in sustainable design and consulting services. Michael holds a Master’s degree in Engineering for Sustainable Development from the University of Cambridge, an Executive Strategy qualification from Saïd Business School at the University of Oxford, and dual degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Applied Mathematics from the University of Melbourne.
