Colleen McWhinnie is an experienced library professional with a focus on teen and youth services. Currently serving as a Teen Services Specialist at Clinton-Macomb Public Library since September 2016, Colleen develops and implements programming for teens while maintaining collections and staffing reference desks. Experience also includes roles as Adult Services Programming Specialist and ESL Liaison at Farmington Community Library, and Youth Programming Specialist at Troy Public Library, where Colleen managed various programs and events. Previous positions at Ann Arbor District Library involved user support, reference services, and content creation. Colleen holds education from Oakland Community College and Pinckney Community High School, graduating in 2003.

The Clinton-Macomb Public Library (CMPL) is a district library serving a rapidly growing population of 185,000. Formed in 1992, CMPL directly serves all of the residents of Macomb Township and most of Clinton Township, with the exception of the portion in the Mount Clemens School District, which is served by Mount Clemens Public Library. CMPL is mostly funded by local property taxes from residents of Clinton and Macomb Townships. CMPL is a member of the Suburban Library Cooperative, encompassing 20 libraries in the cities and townships north of Metro Detroit.
