Michael Neale

Mic Neale serves as the Head of Engineering and CTO at TBD, a business unit of Block, since November 2022, focusing on open source projects and engineering leadership. Neale is also an angel investor and advisor at Sprkl, a personal observability platform for developers, since January 2022. Previously, Neale co-founded CloudBees, contributing to the development of a platform as a service for developers, and held multiple leadership roles at the company. Neale's entrepreneurial spirit is reflected in the co-founding of Rad Alert, which utilized machine learning for monitoring, and roles at Red Hat, The Codehaus, and JBoss, where Neale was involved in the development of the Drools rules engine. An experienced technical architect, Neale also worked with Suncorp on insurance projects and was a principal engineer at E-Plus Pty Ltd. Neale holds an honors degree in Electrical Engineering from UNSW.
