Gareth Neighbour

Gareth Neighbour is an accomplished academic leader currently serving as the Head of School at The Open University, overseeing approximately 80 academic staff and over 200 associate lecturers across various engineering and technology disciplines. With extensive editorial experience at Elsevier, Gareth has held senior editorial roles since January 2014. In addition, Gareth chairs several committees related to graphite validation at EDF Energy, while also contributing as an external examiner for multiple universities, including the University of the West of England and the University of Northampton. Previous roles include visiting professorship and leadership positions at Birmingham City University and Oxford Brookes University, complemented by a robust educational background with a PhD in Materials Science from the University of Bath and a BSc in Physical Sciences from Oxford Brookes University.
