John Sheils has a diverse work experience in the field of corporate finance and treasury. John is currently the Head of Corporate Finance & Treasury at Clúid Housing since 2023. Previously, they served as the Treasury Manager - Payment Strategy & Infrastructure at Elavon Europe from 2020 to 2023. John Sheils has a comprehensive education history. John obtained a CIMA degree in ACMA from The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants between 2007 and 2009. Prior to that, they completed a Graduate Certificate in Corporate Treasury at Dublin City University in 2000. In 2001, they earned a Bachelor of Financial Services degree, specializing in Financial Services, from University College Dublin. Before that, they completed a Bachelor of Commerce degree with a Specialization in Finance at University College Dublin between 1995 and 1998.

In addition to their formal education, John has also obtained various certifications. John received a Blockchain Fundamentals for Accounting and Finance Professionals Certificate from The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants in April 2020. In February 2020, they obtained a Certificate in COSO Enterprise Risk Management, a Certificate in Robotic Process Automation (RPA) for finance professionals, and a PRINCE2® 2017 Foundation & Practitioner certification, all from the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants. Furthermore, in December 2018, they obtained a Certificate in Cybersecurity for finance professionals from the same institution. Lastly, John holds a Qualified Financial Advisor (QFA) certification from The Institute of Banking, although the exact obtainment date is not provided.
