Sharon K. Basso

Sharon K. Basso, Ed.D., currently serves as the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Claremont McKenna College since 2016, with the added role of Acting President for Fall 2023. Previously, Basso spent 27 years at Lehigh University, where roles included Associate Vice Provost and Dean of Students, overseeing various departments that support both undergraduate and graduate student success. Earlier career experiences include leadership positions at Fairleigh Dickinson University, where Basso held roles such as Director of Student Activities and Psychological Counselor. Basso holds a Doctor of Education in Education Leadership from the University of Delaware and multiple master's degrees from Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania, alongside a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Lafayette College.
