Marcus Gartner is a Technical Staff member at Cockroach Labs. Prior to that, they were a Staff Software Engineer at Lob from November 2014 to February 2020. At Lob, Marcus helped build scalable and reliable services to power a print and mail API that sends millions of mailpieces every month. In addition, they led a team to create a USPS CASS-certified address verification API. Marcus also led efforts in maintaining and scaling PostgreSQL servers, diagnosing and fixing performance bottlenecks, and hiring and mentoring engineers.
Before Lob, Marcus was a Co-Founder & Software Engineer at Fanium Fantasy Sports from September 2011 to October 2014. Prior to that, they were a Software Development Engineer Intern at Amazon.com from June 2011 to August 2011 and again from May 2010 to August 2010. Marcus's very first internship was as a Firmware Validation Intern at Synaptics from June 2009 to August 2009.
Marcus Gartner completed a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science at Brown University.
