Matt Certain is a seasoned technology professional with extensive experience in software engineering and management. Currently serving as a Staff Software Engineer, Solution Architect, and Engineering Manager at Code and Theory since August 2023, Matt continues to build on expertise gained during the merger with YML. As CEO, CTO, and Founder of Certain Media Labs since January 2019, Matt developed WhyChat, a peer-to-peer messaging application for users without cellular or Wi-Fi connectivity. At YML from January 2020 to August 2023, Matt progressed through various roles, including iOS Staff Software Engineer and Senior Software Lead Engineer, focusing on cross-platform feature architecture and team leadership. Prior experience includes a Senior Mobile Software Development Engineer role at Sonos, Inc., and a Senior Staff Software Architect & Engineer position at Motorola Solutions, where Matt led significant projects in software architecture and implementation. Matt holds a B.S. in Computer Engineering from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.
