Max is a Senior Data Scientist at Code for America. Previously, he earned his Ph.D. in sociology at Stanford, where his research focused on racial disparities in economic mobility. While at Stanford, he worked at the Center on Poverty and Inequality, where he coauthored a study showing dramatic declines in the share of U.S. children earning more than their parents. Originally from Berlin, Max earned a M.Sc. in sociology at Oxford and a B.A. from Sciences Po Paris. He enjoys being outdoors and going to the beach with his partner Natalie and their dog Dash. He is the proud owner of an ice cream maker and a committed bread-eating aficionado.
