Scott Crooks

Scott Crooks is an experienced principal analyst currently employed at CODELCO – Corporación Nacional del Cobre de Chile since August 2023, following a tenure at McKinsey & Company where roles included Expert (Engagement Manager) and Mining Specialist from May 2018 to August 2023. Previously, Scott served as Principal Petroleum Economist at Wood Mackenzie, focusing on fiscal valuation models for the Middle East, and held positions in metals and mining research. Earlier career milestones include serving as Senior Business Analyst at BHP Billiton, where Scott led the construction of multi-billion dollar valuation models and was involved in high-stakes investment decisions, as well as consulting roles at First Quantum Minerals. Scott holds a Master’s in Mineral Economics from Curtin Graduate School of Business and degrees in Commerce and Economics from The University of Queensland, graduating as the top student in Mineral and Energy Economics in 2011.
