Rod Burns has a diverse work experience in the software industry. Rod started their career as a Software Engineer at Aston Electronics in 1999. Rod then joined Symbian in 2000, where they worked as a Software Developer and later as a Developer Consultant, providing support and technical expertise to third-party software developers. At Sony Ericsson, Rod worked as a Software Engineer, developing software applications for Symbian-based phones. Rod then moved to Symbian Foundation as a Developer Services Manager. Rod joined Ideaworks3D in 2011 as a Senior Manager for Developer Services, where they led a team of engineers and engaged with partners to deliver monetization solutions for developers. Rod also worked at Wireless Industry Partnership (WIP), where they focused on developer engagement and marketing, and at STEMNET as a STEM Ambassador, running a Code Club at a primary school. Rod then worked at Inmarsat as part of their developer program before joining Codeplay Software, initially as a Developer Relations Manager and later as the VP Ecosystem.
Rod Burns completed a BSc degree in Computing Science from the University of Glasgow between 1996 and 1999.
