Julie Sommerville

Julie Sommerville is an accomplished technology leader with extensive experience in engineering and software development. Currently serving as the VP of Engineering at Cofactr since July 2025 and a Chief Member at Chief since July 2021, Julie is dedicated to empowering women in leadership. Previous roles include Senior Director of Engineering at 1Password (2023-2025), VP of Engineering at ChartHop (2020-2023) and Capsule (2018-2019), and positions at Blue Apron and Business Insider spanning from 2010 to 2018. Julie began a successful career in software development with positions at Buddy Media, Community Connect, and Egenius. Julie holds a Master of Science in Computer Science from the New York Institute of Technology and advanced degrees in International Relations/Law and Law from the Graduate Institute of International Studies and The University of Edinburgh, respectively.
