Takao Sato has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. Takao currently serves as the President and CEO of Cognex Corporation starting from October 2023. Prior to this, they held various positions at Moritex Corporation, including CEO & President and CFO, starting from October 2012 and June 2009 respectively. Before joining Moritex Corporation, they worked at Qualicaps as the CFO from 2006 to 2009. Takao also has experience working at General Motors Asia Pacific as the Finance Director, GE Capital as the GLDP & Sourcing Leader, and Sumitomo Bank as an Assistant Manager.
Takao Sato completed a Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of California, Berkeley in 1989. Continuing their education, they earned a Master of Public Administration degree from The University of Texas at Austin by 1999.
