Varun K.

Varun K. is currently the Director of Immuno-Oncology Biomarker Research at Coherus BioSciences, a position held since March 2022. Prior to this role, Varun served as a Senior Scientist and Scientist II at NGM Biopharmaceuticals from February 2020 to March 2022, and as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Genentech from August 2014 to February 2020, where significant research focused on the role of stromal cells in cancer. Varun's early research was conducted as a Postdoctoral Fellow at UMass Medical School, investigating the apoptotic mechanisms of CD8+ T cells during immune responses to viral infections. Academic qualifications include a Ph.D. in Immunology and Virology from UMass Chan Medical School, a Master of Science in Biology/Biotechnology from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, a Master of Science in Biotechnology from PESIT, and a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from Ram Lal Anand College, Delhi University.
