Rafael Kimberley-Bowen has gained significant work experience in various roles and organizations. Rafael started in 2017 as a Director at scale.partners, where they provided expert advice to businesses experiencing high rates of growth. In 2021, they joined icetana as the Chief Financial Officer, Master of Coin, and Company Secretary. Rafael Kimberley-Bowen also served as a Director at Perth Angels starting in 2015. In 2022, they became an Advisor/CFO at TechForce Services and held the same position at Collective Shift in 2020. Rafael took on the role of Treasurer and Director at StartupWA, which promotes the technology startup sector in Western Australia, from 2018 to February 2023. Additionally, they advised and supported Bunsters, an Aussie food brand, on cap raise and equity crowdfunding. Rafael Kimberley-Bowen also became an Approved Advisor at Advisory Board Centre in 2019. Rafael served as a Non-Executive Director and later as the Co-founder/Chief Data Nerd at Techboard from 2015 to 2018. Moreover, they founded and organized the Australian Angel Awards in collaboration with Techboard and Angels of Australia in 2018.
Rafael Kimberley-Bowen has a diverse education history. In 1999, they attended The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) where they earned a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Accounting & Finance, completing their studies in 2003. Later, in 2004, they pursued further education at CIMA and obtained a Fellowship in Certified Management Accountancy (FCMA), which they completed in 2007.
In 2010, Rafael received their CPA (Certified Practising Accountant) qualification from CPA Australia after attending the institution for one year. Following this, they enrolled in Curtin University in 2011 to pursue a Master of Business Administration (MBA), completing their studies in 2013.
Rafael's dedication to continuing education is evident by their enrollment in various specialized courses. In 2017, they completed the Board Director Program offered by the Future Directors Institute, focusing on Board Directorship. In 2018, Rafael attended the Australian Institute of Company Directors for a short-term program, earning a GAICD (Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors) certification.
Most recently, Rafael Kimberley-Bowen obtained a Certificate in Governance Practice from the Governance Institute of Australia in 2022. These academic achievements demonstrate their commitment to acquiring knowledge and expertise across a range of disciplines.
