Humberto Trejo Bittar serves as the Thoracic Pathology Fellowship Program Director, Section Head of Thoracic Pathology, and Medical Director of Autopsy Services at Moffitt Cancer Center since January 2022, contributing to the mission of cancer prevention and treatment. In addition, Humberto chairs the Histotechnology Committee at the College of American Pathologists since January 2024. Previously, Humberto worked at UPMC from 2012 to 2022 as an Assistant Professor of Pathology and a Thoracic Pathology Fellow, gaining extensive experience in both neoplastic and nonneoplastic lung diseases. Prior roles include serving as an Anatomic Pathology Resident, Tissue Banker at the Health Science Tissue Bank of the University of Pittsburgh, and Research Associate at Northwestern University and the Seccion de Fisiologia Respiratoria - IME - UCV. Humberto earned a Doctor of Medicine degree at Universidad Central de Venezuela and a Bachelor of Science degree from Colegio San Agustin.
