Nigel Ashworth is a prominent researcher and academic with extensive experience in medical regulation and evaluation. Since April 2015, Nigel has served as the Principal Investigator and Senior Medical Advisor at the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta, focusing on evidence-based medical practices. As a Professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Alberta since September 2001, Nigel has significantly contributed to medical education. In addition, Nigel held the position of Associate Professor at the World Health Organization from February 2018 to October 2019, specializing in Health Workforce Policy. Nigel also directed the Division of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at the University of Alberta from September 2001 to October 2011 and was an Assistant Professor at the University of Saskatchewan from July 1997 to June 2001. Educational qualifications include a Master’s degree in Community Health & Epidemiology from the University of Saskatchewan and a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the University of Leicester.
