Clive van Horen has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Clive started their career at BoE Limited, where they held various roles from 2000 to 2004. In 2004, they joined Nedbank as the Managing Executive for Secured Lending and Retail Banking Services. During their time at Nedbank, they were responsible for leading teams of 10,000+ and was a member of the Retail leadership team. In 2010, Clive moved to Commonwealth Bank, where they held several executive general manager roles, including Business Customer Solutions, Retail Products, Small Business, Home Loans, and Commercial Lending. Most recently, Clive joined Suncorp Group in 2020 as the CEO of Banking & Wealth.
Clive van Horen holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Economics from the University of Cape Town, which they obtained from 1992 to 1996. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) degree, with a Diploma in Accounting, from the University of KwaZulu-Natal between 1984 and 1987. In 1991, they also pursued a Bachelor of Social Sciences (B Soc Sci) degree, with Honours, in African Studies from the University of Cape Town. Clive van Horen's educational journey includes a period of study at St Henrys College, Marist Brothers, although the specific dates and degrees obtained are not provided.
