Louie Castanon is an experienced human resources professional and entrepreneur, currently serving as the Employee Relations Manager at the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless since August 2019. With a commitment to preventing homelessness, Louie facilitates employee relations for an organization of over 750 staff. Additionally, Louie operates as a small business owner of On The Green Trading LLC, specializing in day and swing trading of small and mid-cap stocks since March 2017. Previously, Louie held various HR leadership roles at 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty from August 2000 to March 2017, including Director of Human Resources, where responsibilities encompassed developing HR strategies and managing recruitment processes. Earlier experience includes serving as the Human Resource Director at Western Publishing Company, overseeing compliance and employee benefits for a multi-site organization. Louie holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a focus on Finance from the University of Wyoming and an Associate of Science in Business Administration and Management from Western Nebraska Community College.

The mission of the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless is to work collaboratively toward the prevention of homelessness and the creation of lasting solutions for families and individuals experiencing or at-risk of homelessness throughout Colorado. The Coalition advocates for and provides a continuum of housing and a variety of services to improve the health, well-being, and stability of those it serves. Since its founding more than 30 years ago, the organization has earned state and national recognition for its integrated healthcare, housing, and service programs. The Coalition’s comprehensive approach addresses the causes of homelessness, as well as the consequences, offering critical assistance to over 18,000 individuals and families each year. Positions at the Coalition span more than 50 programs and offer a variety of employment opportunities in a trauma-informed environment. We value staff development and training, within a culturally diverse workforce, that promotes innovative thinking and creative approaches to out work.
