Evan Appleton, Ph.D. is currently Head of Stem Cell Biology / Reprogramming at Colossal. Evan has been working in the Church Lab as a postdoc since March 2016 in stem cell biology and engineering of multicellular shapes from single cells. He received his doctoral degree from Boston University in 2015. His expertise includes synthetic biology, computer aided design, and bioinformatics. Evan is currently screening a transcription factor library in Asian Elephant cells to derive induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) in the Church Lab and will continue this work at Colossal in addition to other expansions in the stem cell/developmental biology space.
