Suzanne McBride

Suzanne McBride currently serves as Interim Senior Vice President and Provost and previously held the position of Dean of Faculty Affairs at Columbia College Chicago since August 2008. Suzanne has extensive experience in academic administration, overseeing tenure, promotion, and faculty development while collaborating with various academic leaders. Additional roles at Columbia College include Dean of the School of Graduate Studies and Chair of the Communication Department, where oversight included multiple award-winning student media programs. Outside of academia, Suzanne serves as Assistant Metropolitan Editor for the Chicago Sun-Times and co-founded ChicagoTalks.org, a recognized investigative news site. Suzanne also launched AustinTalks.org, focusing on local news in Chicago. Prior experience includes roles at The Indianapolis Star, where Suzanne held several editorial positions from 1992 to 2005. Educational qualifications include a Master's degree in Journalism from Northwestern University and a Bachelor's degree in Journalism and Psychology from the University of Iowa.
